Sands China Holds ‘Drug Prevention for a Harmonious Family’ Seminar for Team Members
Promotes awareness of drug abuse

Sands China Ltd.
co-organised a seminar entitled “Drug
Prevention for a Harmonious Family” with the
Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) Aug. 21. The
seminar was held at The Venetian®
Macao’s Adelson Advanced Education Centre,
attended by around 35 team members from
various departments. It is the first time
Sands China has partnered with IAS to
organise a seminar of this kind for its team
members.
Wednesday’s seminar was held in support of
the Macao SAR government’s 2019
International Day against Drug Abuse
campaign, with topics covering Concepts of
Drugs, Alcohol-related Harm, and Drug
Refusal Skills. It aimed to enhance
awareness of drug abuse and build a
drug-free society. The speaker for the
seminar was head of IAS’ Drug Abuse
Prevention Division, Tang Sut I, who
introduced the issues faced by teenagers
nowadays and shared some tips and techniques
on how to prevent drug
abuse.

Welfare Bureau to bring this seminar to our

Limited. “With this seminar, I hope team
members can play a part in helping reduce
the negative impact of drug abuse and even
reach out to those who might need
assistance.”
The event featured a video screening
based on true stories from Macao and a
discussion on drugs, followed by a Q&A
session.
One of the participating team members said:
“We as parents are concerned about the
social issues faced by teenagers nowadays.
This seminar taught me invaluable lessons
and helped me understand the importance of
protecting our children from drug abuse.”
Sands China views its team members as its
greatest asset, and holding Wednesday’s
seminar is part of the company’s long-term
commitment and focus on the well-being of
its team members and the local community.
