
Sands China Donates Solar Street Lamps to Guizhou's Congjiang County
Part of company’s mainland poverty alleviation work
(Macao,
September
29, 2019) –
Sands China Ltd. has
completed an ambitious solar street lamp
project in Guizhou's Congjiang County, as
part of the company’s support of the central
government’s and Macao SAR government’s call
for targeted poverty alleviation in mainland
China.
A total of 560 solar-powered street lamps
were installed across five Congjiang
villages, with the six-month project
requiring MOP 1.6 million to
accomplish.
A donation ceremony was held Sept. 26 at
Congjiang’s Gaowu village, attended by Chen
Jianhua, coordinator of the poverty
alleviation programme of the Liaison Office
of the Central People’s Government in the
Macao Special Administrative Region; Wang
Rui, vice secretary of the People’s
Government of Congjiang County; Liu Weinan,
first secretary of the China Council for the
Promotion of International Trade in
Congjiang County’s Guping and Gaowu
villages; and Julian Chow, senior vice
president of special projects, product
strategy and development for Venetian Macau
Limited.

poverty relief work in Congjiang, and we are
