(Macao,

Sands China Ltd. held a
screening of the film “My People, My
Country” at Cinema Alegria Tuesday, as part
of the company’s ongoing effort to build
professionalism and deepen understanding of
national development among team members,
aiming to deepen their understanding China’s
history and culture, and the development of
the Greater Bay Area.
“Sands China’s philosophy on team member
training is a holistic one,” said Dr.
Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd.
“We aim for our team members to be
well-rounded individuals, giving them
opportunities for professional and personal
growth and development. In our efforts to
contribute to their professionalism
education, we are very pleased to be the
first integrated resort operator to have
reserved an entire theatre for team members
to view this film about China during this
celebratory 70th anniversary
year.”
“My People, My Country” is a movie
co-directed by Golden Rooster Best Director
award winner Chen Kaige and others. With the
theme of “memorable historic moments,” the
movie recalls inspiring true stories from
China’s last 70 years through seven short
plays. The film enables team members to
learn about some of the nation’s great
achievements, while seeing through the eyes
of individual characters who demonstrate the
patriotism of the Chinese people and the
current pulse of Chinese market.
One team member said: “This is the second
time I’ve been to a screening organised by
the company, and it’s helped me learn even
more about our country’s culture, history
and development, and to gain insights about
the current development of the Greater Bay
Area.”
Sands China had also organised a
professionalism education film screening for
its team members last year with a showing of
the two-part documentary “Hong
Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.”
Sands China Ltd. has been committed to
improving the professionalism of its 28,000
team members through various initiatives,
including professional literacy training
courses, professional lectures, various
professional exchange activities, and
through film viewing sessions.
