Team Members and Their Children Experience ‘Sands China Amazing Summer 2020’

Family-friendly August activities enjoyed by over 500 participants

(Macao, Sept. 6, 2020) – The Sands China Amazing Summer 2020 campaign recently gave Sands China team members the opportunity to experience a variety of fun August workshops and activities with their children, aimed at helping them enjoy a memorable time together during the summer holiday. It is the company’s third straight year organising the activity.

The annual month-long event encourages team members to enjoy a greater work-life balance by providing opportunities for them to spend time with friends and family at Sands China events and share memorable experiences with their children. More than 500 people joined this year’s activities.

“During this pandemic period, Sands China has been paying special attention to team members’ physical and mental health,” said Wen Hongyan, senior vice president of human resources for Sands China Ltd. “Considering the unique challenges presented by the pandemic, we are very pleased that we were able to offer this Amazing Summer activity again this year to give team members a much-needed opportunity to unwind and enjoy a variety of fun family activities together, and thereby foster family harmony.”

Sands China Amazing Summer 2020 comprised three events: Little Learner, Amazing Fun Party, and Little Explorer.

The Little Learner activity offered professionally conducted child-parent workshops to Sands China team members and their children at various times throughout August, free of charge. Activities like making dragon’s beard candy and Lego building allowed children to learn more about some of their favourite hobbies while enabling team members to spend quality time with their children.

Sands China cooperated with the Women's General Association of Macau on one of the workshops, which sought to strengthen the parent-child relationship. Led by registered Macao psychotherapists, the workshop helped enhance children’s concentration and social skills through interactive games and story books.

The Amazing Fun Party on Aug. 8 featured fun activities where children were able to learn through games, while enhancing their relationships with their parents. Three workshops – Little Master Chef, Balloon Twisting, and Little Magician – enhanced communication and cooperation skills, while a Kids King game encouraged children’s pursuit of knowledge and skills. Prizes included tickets to Qube and teamLab SuperNature Macao.

And Little Explorer on Aug. 10 and 14 gave team members a chance to promote family harmony while letting their children experience the work life of a performer, allowing their youngsters to learn more by visiting the guest and back-of-house areas of The Venetian Macao. They explored the Venetian Theatre, where they took a look at places they wouldn’t usually be able to access, such as backstage, wardrobe, and the props shop, plus the team member dining room.

One of the participating team members, Annie Si Tou, said: “I’m very happy to be able to participate in this annual event once again. Amazing Summer 2020 has activities for all ages, and it’s a precious opportunity to relax and bond with your family and friends, especially during these difficult times.”

The annual Amazing Summer activity is part of Sands China’s continued commitment to its team members and their quality of life, both at work and at home.
