Sands China Invites Community Members to Explore teamLab SuperNature Macao
Family-friendly activity in celebration of Macao SAR 22nd anniversary
(Macao,
Dec. 20, 2021) – In celebration of Macao's 22nd
anniversary of its return to the motherland, Sands China
hosted a community event for 500 participants, where
members of local community organisations, their
families, and Sands Cares Ambassadors explored teamLab
SuperNature Macao's immersive art space at The
Venetian® Macao
Monday.
Entitled "A
Joyful Get-Together" – Celebrating the 22nd
Anniversary of the Macao SAR, the activity aimed
to spread joy in the community and promote family
harmony by offering participants an interactive art
experience, creating memorable moments for them to mark
the holiday.
"Sands China
is very pleased that members of local community
organisations and their families were able to explore
the interactive art installations at teamLab to
celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the Macao SAR," said
Dr. Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd. "We are
grateful that our guests had an enjoyable experience
there, and it is our hope that events like this can help
enhance family interactions and strengthen family bonds.
Our company's gratitude goes to the participating local
organizations for their support on this event and to our
volunteers for their continued dedication and spirit of
giving back to the community."
The event
kicked off with an opening ceremony attended by Sean
McCreery, senior vice president of resort operations for
Sands China Ltd.; Paula Ling Hsião Yun, Vice-Chairwomen
of the Women's General Association of Macau; Lei Cheok
Kuan, Vice President of General Union of Neighborhood
Associations of Macau; Lee Kwok Hoo, Service Director of
Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination
Office; Leong Meng Ian, Vice Chairman of Macao
Federation of Trade Unions; and Sam Chongnin, Vice
President of Corporate Communications and Community
Affairs of Sands China Ltd. The Ambassadors and their
guests then enjoyed the immersive and interactive art
installations at teamLab SuperNature Macao – a permanent
exhibition at Cotai Expo spanning 5,000 square metres of
labyrinthine floor space.
"This is our
first experience at teamLab and my kids are fascinated
with it," said one of the participants who joined with
her children. "This art exhibition is definitely an
ideal place for families and we will cherish the
memories of the time we spent together on this special
day."
The local
community organisations participating in the event were
the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of
Macao, the Women's General Association of Macau, the
Macao Federation of Trade Unions, and the Sheng Kung Hui
Macau Social Services Coordination
Office.
As a parting
gift for their guests, the Sands Cares Ambassadors
passed out festive gift packs purchased from Fuhong
Society of Macau that were prepared by its members with
mental disabilities to further promote social inclusion
in the community.
The Sands
Cares Ambassador programme was established in August
2009 to give Sands China team members an outlet for
serving the local community by organising community
activities and initiatives that work toward creating a
better Macao. With membership of more than 3,300
volunteers from across all Sands China properties –
Sands® Macao, The Venetian Macao, The
Plaza® Macao, The Parisian Macao and The
Londoner® Macao – the Sands Cares Ambassadors
have contributed more than 130,000 hours of voluntary
community service since the programme's founding.
