
Sands China Earns 14 HR Awards in Greater China in 2022
Recognised for innovative programmes and fostering team member development
(Macao,
Jan. 30, 2023) – Sands China Ltd. earned a total
of 14 human resources awards in the Greater China
region in 2022, in recognition of the company's
innovative and effective human resources policies and
programmes.
Wen Hongyan,
Sands China's senior vice president of human resources,
said: "Sands China is thrilled with the honours we
received in 2022 in recognition of the company's
accomplishments in the field of human resources. As a
company rooted in Macao for two decades, Sands China
adheres to the principles of 'diversity, genuine care,
and companionship,' with the aim to grow with team
members and move forward together with society. Apart
from nurturing talent in the tourism and leisure
industry in line with the development of the city, we
have rolled out innovative and forward-thinking
initiatives to create a nurturing workplace – as we
pursue a constantly improving human resource strategy.

Among the many
accolades, the company was honoured by the prestigious
Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Gold Awards
2022 as the winner of the Youth
Empowerment Initiative category. It is the only
honour in the PATA Gold Awards 2022 that recognises
outstanding achievements in the field of human
resources. The award acknowledged Sands China's City
of Gourmet – Youth Development and Integration
Program, which supports the advancement of local
youth's food and beverage careers and promotes
sustainable development in the industry – aligning with
the Macao government's policy of "building Macao with
talent" and serving to strengthen Macao's positioning as
a UNESCO Creative City of
Gastronomy.
In the 2022
Employer Branding Creativity Awards, Sands China
was the only Macao-based company to receive a
5-Year Benchmarking Enterprises Award, in
recognition of the company's influence, achievements,
and leading position in the field of employer branding.
More than 530 national and international enterprises
submitted entries for this year's awards; other notable
winners in 2022 include Mercedes-Benz, Tencent, IKEA,
MSD, PwC, Volvo, and Starbucks.
In addition to
the aforementioned awards, Sands China garnered human
resources awards with its ever-improving efforts in
talent development and retention, team member
benefits and work-life balance, and team
member
experience.
The company
has introduced initiatives like Be a Londoner
Guide, a programme to heighten the
professionalism of team members for The Londoner Macao.
Another initiative, the Sands China Integrated Talent
Development Programme, combines practical and
sustainable learning approaches. Its participants engage
in a number of cross-departmental projects that help

divisions within an integrated resort environment. The
