The Art of Tea – Quintessential Chinese
Culture for its team members April 20 at
The Venetian® Macao's Adelson Advanced
Education Centre, as part of the company's ongoing
professionalism education
efforts.
The seminar
was conducted by Mandy Chan Pui Lan, president of the
Tea Art Professionals Association of Macau, who helped
familiarise team members with basic knowledge about tea
ceremonies and culture. The seminar was aimed at
developing team members' skills in order to elevate
guests’ experience and deliver the highest hospitality
standards.
Nearly 100
team members, mostly frontline workers, joined the
seminar, whose topics included the culture, history and
types of tea, their characteristics, how to properly
display tea sets, and tea
etiquette.
Dr. Wilfred
Wong, president of Sands China Ltd., said: "Tea
exemplifies the essence of Chinese culture. Sands China
is always looking for ways to nurture our team members
for their own professional development and in service of
the highest standards of excellence for our guests and
visitors. We are grateful for Ms. Chan's visit, as it
helped us accomplish both of those goals, as well as
reinforcing Macao's positioning as a Creative City of
Gastronomy."
The Art of Tea
– Quintessential Chinese Culture was offered by the
Sands Hospitality Academy, which seeks
to equip the company's hospitality practitioners, such
as hotel and restaurant managers, with practical skills
and knowledge to help them exemplify international
industry standards for exceptional levels of service
quality.
As the largest
integrated resort operator in Macao, Sands China aims to
be a role model for integrated resort development and
play a leading role in talent development for the
Greater Bay Area via its Sands China

inaugurating six new sub-academies, including the Sands
Hospitality, bringing the total number to eight, in
support of Macao's development into a talent incubator
for the Greater Bay Area. Sands China is offering these
platforms as a way for industry experts to share their
experience and knowledge with Sands China team members
and with industry practitioners in the Greater Bay Area
to foster their growth in various
areas.
