(Macao, Jun 17, 2024) – With the Sands Shopping Carnival on its way July 18-21, Sands China has announced some exciting new activities for the carnival's fifth year, along with the return of some crowd favourites.
With free entry, the popular annual carnival will be open noon to 10 p.m. daily at The Venetian® Macao's Cotai Expo, including a special invitation-only preview session on the first day.
ICBC ePay Presents: National Essence: Hanfu Styling Contest
Traditional Chinese clothing and etiquette systems are an important component of Chinese culture, with the colourful Han nationality costume vividly demonstrating the aesthetics and wisdom of the ancients. This year's new National Essence: Hanfu Styling Contest takes place Saturday, July 20, aiming to further promote national culture to the public, enhance cultural confidence, and help establish Macao as an exchange and cooperation base for diverse cultures, highlighted by Chinese culture. The contest is free and open to adults aged 18 or above from cities in the Greater Bay Area.

Bank of Communications Co., Ltd. Macau Branch Presents: Rising Stars: Kids Talent Showdown
In order to encourage children to develop their hobbies, enhance their self-confidence, and gain courage to challenge themselves through showcasing their talents, this year's Sands Shopping Carnival is introducing the Rising Stars: Kids Talent Showdown on Sunday, July 21, for individuals or groups to showcase their talents and shine on stage. The contest is free and open to children aged 5 to 12 years old in cities in the Greater Bay Area.

BOC Smart Kids Presents: Little Master Chef Workshop
Led by Sands China's food and beverage team for four consecutive years, the Little Master Chef Workshop has been one of the most popular family-friendly activities of the carnival and has attracted participation from more than 1,500 children in total. The workshop will be free of charge again this year with registration taking place on site.
The widely praised Sands Shopping Carnival is an annual signature event for Sands China, having already run for four very successful years and drawing more than 420,000 visits to date. With over 580 booths across nine exhibition zones, the summer hotspot is Macao's largest sale event, providing a free business platform that takes advantage of the synergy created between local SMEs and international retail brands.
The 2024 Sands Shopping Carnival is organised by Sands China Ltd. and co-organised by the Macao Chamber of Commerce, with the full support of the Economic and Technological Development Bureau, the Macao Government Tourism Office, and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute. In line with the Macao government's “tourism+” initiative, it aims to support Macao's economic revival policies and boost its diversified economic development.
