'Happy 360' Initiative Promotes Team Member Well-being at Sands China Properties

Six-weeks of activities to promote physical and mental health

(Macao, Jul 15, 2024) – Sands China Ltd. recently held its Happy 360 Month wellness initiative for its team members for the fourth year in a row, with a goal to promote the attitudes of positivity and proactivity among team members.

The six-week series of activities was part of Sands China's commitment to comprehensively care for the physical and mental health of its team members. From May 28 to July 4, team members were able to take advantage of a series of wellness activities at the back-of-house team member areas at The Venetian® Macao, The Parisian Macao, The Londoner® Macao and Sands® Macao.

Happy 360 Month makes use of the 5S model for emotions to conduct health seminars, parent-child interest classes, healing workshops, physical and mental health consultations from professionals, interactive game booths, and other activities to encourage team members to develop a positive mindset and contribute to building a happy and thriving workplace.

Through the 5S model – Self-Questioning, Stop Negative Thinking, Self-Pep Talk, Shuffle Your Thoughts, and Stay Attentive to Body Responses – team members learn positive techniques for realising stress, learn the importance of managing emotions, and develop practical strategies.

Since debuting the Happy 360 initiative in 2021, Sands China has organised nearly 200 activities, including seminars, workshops, and roadshows, attracting more than 28,000 participants. In this way, the company hopes to encourage team members to develop positive thinking habits, enrich their lives, and advance family harmony.

"Our team members are our most valued resource," said Dr. Wilfred Wong, executive vice chairman of Sands China Ltd. "We want to create a work environment in which they can thrive, and an important part of that is caring for their physical and mental well-being. Happy 360 has been a very successful effort in that regard, and we are glad to have offered it for the fourth consecutive year."

In order to enhance the efficiency and diversity of the activities, Sands China has forged new partnerships with a wide range of entities from various sectors this year. The goal is to provide team members with a more comprehensive and professional experience while promoting their physical and mental well-being from multiple perspectives, highlighting the significance of emotional management, and implementing strategies to enhance psychological well-being.

Sands China held an opening ceremony May 31 at The Venetian Macao to kick off the initiative, attended by guests of honour Wong Chi Hong, director of the Labour Affairs Bureau; Wong Weng Man, acting director of the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention of the Health Bureau; Lam Pui Seong, head of the Community Service Coordination Division of the Social Welfare Bureau; Ho Sut Heng, president of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions; Ng Sio Lai, president of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macao; Lau Kam Ling, chairwoman of the Women's General Association of Macau; Ip Kam Po, service director of the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Service Coordination Office; Shi Chong Rong, president of the Macau Association of Chinese Medicine; Au Ka Fai, president of the Au Hon Sam Charity Association; and Dr. Wong.

As a responsible corporation, Sands China has always paid attention to team members' physical and mental health, encouraging a healthy work-life balance and promoting family harmony. Through organising team member wellness and parent-child activities and launching physical and mental health support programmes, Sands China continues to address the emotional needs of its team members.
